‘Mumbai Saga’ box-office early estimate day 1: The John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi starrer to collect over Rs 2 crore – Times of India

After much ado, Sanjay Gupta’s gangster drama ‘Mumbai Saga’ was released on March 19 amid the pandemic. Although it is expected to do a decent business at the box-office, the night curfew and other restrictions might have reportedly hit the business.

According to a report in boxofficeindia.com, the John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi starrer’s first day business at the box-office is expected to go up to Rs 2-2.50 crore nett. The report also added that the film has been hit across Maharashtra due to restrictions but places that do not have restrictions have also seen the best occupancy rates for the film.

John had recently said that he prefers the big-screen experience over streaming platforms. He had told PTI, “It is important for the film industry to instill confidence in cinema owners as they open their theatres with adherence to the COVID-19 protocol, so that audience can once again look forward to the community viewing experience. He added, “I like to succeed in reaching out to more people. I want the audience to have that big screen experience. We lost that sense of big screen, heroism in films and ‘Mumbai Saga’ will bring that back.”

Apart from John and Emraan, the film also featured Gulshan Grover, Suniel Shetty, Rohit Roy and others in key roles.
