Nothing’s first phone – the Phone (1) – is just days away from going official. If you thought that selling a pre-order pass for a phone was too much, then you would be a little shocked that the company is now giving away NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) to its community investors. And it is not a picture of Nothing Phone (1).
What is Nothing’s NFT
Nothing is calling its non-fungible token, the Black Dot, which is a video of a black dot bouncing inside a transparent cube, and it also makes the sound. The company will be airdropping these NFTs to its community investors starting July 7.
So, if you are someone who has invested your money in Nothing, then you can go and receive the airdrop through your Nothing account. But, first, you need to create a crypto wallet or link an existing one to your Nothing account, and you will find these Black Dots on the ‘My NFT page’ after July 7. And you need to redeem them before the launch date, i.e., July 12.
Moreover, the customers who will be pre-ordering the Nothing Phone (1) would also be eligible to join the coming rounds of NFT airdrop.
What rewards members will receive
Nothing says that 10 Black Dot holders from the company’s private community will get getting exclusive invites for the Nothing Phone (1) event – Return to Instinct – happening in London, UK, on July 12. Further, members with Nothing’s NFTs will get access to exclusive community content, discounts on merchandise, and more. Well, you need to be quick as Nothing suggests redeeming NFTs as early as possible to receive exclusive benefits.
Nothing has partnered with Polygon, the company behind Ethereum. In its blog post announcing the collaboration, Polygon said, “In the future, the goal is to make all of Nothing’s phone products and other ecosystem devices future-ready by supporting sustainable and secure access to Web 3 applications.”
