Around 54 employees of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) have reportedly been sacked for submitting fake degrees, abusing drugs and overall poor performance. This brings the number of employees sacked by the airlines in the last four months to 220. The PIA has taken up a so-called ‘cleaning up’ exercise of its staff following Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan’s probe report into the May 22 Karachi plane crash.
