Prachi Desai admits her career took a hit due to nepotism in Bollywood | Hindi Movie News – Bollywood – Times of India

Prachi Desai has zero connections in the Hindi film industry, she is what you call an ‘outsider’ in Bollywood, for the lack of a better word. Yet, she has managed to do quite well for herself. She made her debut with the film ‘Rock On!!’ opposite Farhan Akhtar in 2008, post which she went on to do films like ‘Bol Bachchan’, ‘Life Partner’, ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai’, ‘Azhar’, and ‘Rock On 2′. She has often spoken about the impact of nepotism on her career. Once again, she is getting candid about the same. In a recent interview, she said that she has accepted it as a reality and added that it is likely to continue in the future, too. Having said that, she feels the audience has played a crucial role in her career. She said that she is getting interesting offers, of late, because of the support she has been getting from viewers. On being asked if her career saw a downfall due to nepotism, she told a leading daily, ‘See, that’s a reality that is best accepted; there is no point denying it. It has been there, it is there, and it’s probably going to be there. But today, I’m loving the fact that the audience is deciding a lot. So, as long as the audience supports, there will be space for everyone.’ Furthermore, she added, ‘To be honest, the kind of stuff that I’m getting offered now, and which wasn’t coming my way a year or two years ago, is because of the audience. They are the people who have changed everything. As long as the people really like and support us, we will have a place for all outsiders like me.’ For the uninitiated, Prachi made her acting debut in 2006 with the popular television show ‘Kasamh Se’, in which she played the lead role opposite Ram Kapoor.
