The new member of the Redmi K-series — the Redmi K50i — has been launched in India. Redmi’s latest smartphone comes with a 144Hz LCD display, Dimensity 8100 and a 64MP triple camera setup, priced under Rs 30,000. It is the second K-series smartphone in India and comes after a gap of two years after the launch of the first one — the Redmi K20.
The Redmi K50i does have big shoes to fill and how it compares to the other phones priced in the same bracket, one of which is the iQoo Neo 6. The Neo 6 is a sub-30K mid-range smartphone from iQoo, which offers similar specifications as the Redmi K50i, including a 120Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 870 and a 64MP triple camera setup. Redmi K50i vs iQoo Neo 6: Display
The K50i features a 6.6-inch FHD+ LCD with a refresh rate of 144Hz. The Neo 6 comes with a 120Hz AMOLED panel measuring 6.62 inches and having an FHD+ resolution. The display on both smartphones supports HDR10+ playback, but Redmi K50i also comes with support for Dolby Vision.

The Redmi K50i comes with the Dimensity 8100 chipset under the hood paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. Meanwhile, Snapdragon 870 chipset powers the Neo 6. iQoo’s Neo 6 also comes with up to 12GB of RAM and upto 256GB of storage.
The K50i has a 4400mAh battery with support for 67W charging. In comparison, the iQoo Neo 6 boasts a tad bigger 4,700mAh battery with faster 80W charging support.

The two smartphones have a similar camera setup on the front and rear. The K50i and Neo 6 have a 64MP primary camera joined by an 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro camera. On the front, both smartphones have a 16MP sensor for selfies.

The 6GB+128GB storage model of Redmi K50i comes at Rs 25,999 while the 8GB+256GB variant costs Rs 28,999. In contrast, the iQoo Neo 6 comes at Rs 29,999 for the base 8GB+128GB storage model and the 12GB+256GB one is priced at Rs 33,999.
