Rickshaw Run 2022: 110 foreign tourists begin 2700 km long road trip in auto rickshaws from Kochi to Jaisalmer | News – Times of India Videos

The latest edition of Rickshaw Run 2022, an autorickshaw rally organised by UK-based adventure company The Adventurists, was flagged off from Fort Kochi on September 12. As many as 110 foreign tourists divided into teams, travelling in 46 bedecked auto rickshaws will be covering 2700 km over the course of two weeks. The adventurous three-wheeler trip is from Kochi to Jaisalmer in Rajasthan in an effort to promote tourism and explore the Real India. Without any prior planning, each squad will travel independently with the only requirement that they arrive in Jaisalmer on September 25. By the end of the rally, each team will raise at least 500 pounds (about 46,000 rupees) for charity. Participants will take rural routes and stay in villages throughout the rally. There will be one common halt in Goa on September 15 where they will discuss their first 3 days of experience. The most exciting feature is that the rally is on autopilot mode so the basic criteria for participation is having an international driving license as members of each team will have to take turns as drivers. All of them had learnt riding an autorickshaw over the last few days after arriving in Kochi. Started in 2016, the event is organised twice every year. The event will give a much-needed boost to the sector that had been badly affected by the pandemic. Another Rickshaw Run from Jaisalmer to Leh is also taking place.
