Salman Khan returns home from London; avoids paparazzi following news of accused arms supplier’s death by suicide – Pics | – Times of India

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan made a quiet return home to Mumbai City late last night, following his short visit to London for work commitments.
The actor, surrounded by his bodyguards and security, arrived at the airport in Kalkina, where he avoided the glare of the paparazzi and chose to simply drive off home. The actor, accompanied by his trusted bodyguard Shera and a few staff members, Salman landed at a private terminal and swiftly made his way to a waiting white SUV, while shielded by tight security.Dressed casually in a black t-shirt under a leather jacket paired with jeans, the superstar headed straight to his car and drove home.

His appearance came just hours after one of the accused in the firing case, allegedly died by suicide. Salman found himself in the middle of this controversy when family members of the deceased accused the police of ‘killing’ Anuj Thapan, one of the accused in the ongoing case. Reports allege that the man, accused of supplying guns to the two shooters, was found hanging from the toilet window, with a piece of bedsheet around his neck. He reportedly died in the toilet of the first-floor lock-up, located in the crime branch building inside the police commissioner’s office compound in South Mumbai, an official revealed to PTI.

When he was rushed to the nearby state-run Gokuldas Tejpal hospital, he was declared dead during treatment. The state’s CID has taken over the probe into Thapan’s custodial death and will investigate whether there was any negligence on the part of crime branch officials.

Later in the evening, Thapan’s body was sent to the J J Hospital for a postmortem, to be conducted by forensic doctors in the presence of a magistrate, while an accidental death case was registered at Azad Maidan police station. A senior police official told PTI that there were five police personnel posted at the crime branch lockup, and as per the high court guidelines, CCTV cameras are also installed inside. “After examining the CCTV footage, we will find out what exactly happened,” he said.
Meanwhile, in a statement to ANI, the Sarpanch of Thapan’s village, demanded that the post-mortem of the body should be done outside Mumbai. “The family is demanding justice. His post-mortem should be done outside this state because Salman Khan has influence in Mumbai,” Godara said.

He further alleged foul play was involved in the death. He said to ANI, “On one side is superstar Salman Khan and on the other side are the labourers. Under pressure, they have killed him and framed it as a suicide.”
Meanwhile, Salman, who has been going about fulfilling his work commitments, met UK Member of Parliament for Brent North constituency, Barry Gardiner at the iconic Wembley Stadium during his London visit.
On the work front, the actor is expected to soon begin work on his next film ‘Sikandar’, directed by AR Murugadoss.
