Samsung brings another Apple Watch feature to Galaxy Watch 4 via an app – Times of India

Samsung has launched a new native app for its recently launched Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The Walkie Talkie app for the new smartwatches running Wear OS 3 allows users to use the watch as a push-to-talk walkie-talkie device.
The app currently works on Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic and both parties require Galaxy Watch 4 for the feature to work. Using the app one can create a channel and add other people to their contact list to engage in the conversation. Also, they will need to link the Watch 4 and the app via a Samsung account to use the feature.
According to the company, the setup is required with the watch connected to the smartphone and after the app can function independently. Also, there’s no official word from the company about the range and use case scenario of the new app.
For those unaware, Samsung announced the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic on August 11 alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3 smartphones. The smartwatch is priced starting at Rs 26,999 and is now available for purchase via online and offline retail stores.
Feature-wise, it is the most advanced smartwatch from the company. The Galaxy Watch duo is the first smartwatch to run on Wear OS 3 which was co-developed with Google.
The latest Galaxy smartwatches come with BioActive Sensor, which according to the company is a 3-in-1 sensor that uses a single chip to precisely run three health sensors — Optical Heart Rate, Electrical Heart and Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis
It also comes with support for Body Composition measurement that gives users a detailed look at their general health and fitness status.
With Wear OS on board, the Galaxy Watch 4 now comes with Google services that mean users now have access to Google Play Store, Google Maps, etc.
