samsung: This popular Samsung smartphone is receiving Android 12 update – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Samsung is one company that takes Android updates quite seriously. The smartphone maker makes sure that not only high-end but mid-range and budget smartphones also receive the latest OS update. With this same thought in mind, the South Korean tech giant has rolled out the Android 12 update for its best selling smartphone of 2020 — Samsung Galaxy A51.
This is the second major software update for the smartphone. The company launched the Galaxy A51 with Android 10 out-of-the-box. Last year Samsung rolled out Android 11 update for the Galaxy A51. Now the smartphone has finally started receiving Android 12 update along with One UI 4.1.
The Samsung Galaxy A51 users in Vietnam, UAE and Russia can now download the update. The company is also expected to expand the Android update to other regions soon.
The Android update comes with firmware version A51xxXXU5FVC2. With the Android 12 update, Samsung smartphones will also receive the new Samsung One UI 4.0 update. With the One UI 4.0, users will get improved stock apps, Material You dynamic colour themes, lock screen widgets, dedicated quick settings toggles for switching off camera and microphone access and new widget designs. The update is also claimed to enhance the security and privacy of the devices.
Samsung Galaxy A51 specifications
Samsung Galaxy A51 is powered by an octa-core Exynos 9611 processor paired with 6GB of RAM. The smartphone packs 128GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 512GB by adding a microSD card. The smartphone features a 6.5-inch full HD+ display with 1080×2400 pixel resolution.
Samsung Galaxy A51 sports a quad-camera setup which consists of a 48MP main sensor with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, 12MP 123-degree ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture, 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and 5MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture. The front is home to a 32MP selfie shooter with an f/2.2 aperture.
The smartphone is equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The smartphone is backed by a 4000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support.
