‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ has been one of the most awaited films of the year. It was supposed to hit the theatres last year. However, it got delayed owing to the pandemic and the resulting lockdown in the country.

The teaser has sent all of Alia Bhatt’s fans in a tizzy. She has been garnering praise for her look and performance from all sides. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, Bollywood celebs like Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra and Karan Johar sang praise of the young actress and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s cinematic vision.

The movie is based on a chapter in Husain Zaidi’s novel ‘Mafia Queens Of Mumbai’ and will trace the journey of a girl, sold into prostitution at an early age, who goes on to become one of the most powerful and influential women in the history of Mumbai, with notorious criminals serving as her clients.
