The voice behind ‘Beqaaboo’, from ‘Gehraiyaan‘, Shalmali Kholgade is extremely saddened with the untimely demise of the ‘Disco King’, Bappi Lahiri. The Disco King has left behind a mammoth contribution to the music industry. He was 69 and breathed his last due to obstructive sleep apnea.
Speaking to ETimes, Shalmali expressed her grief and said, “This year has been very heartbreaking till now… first with the passing away of Lata ji and now with Bappi Lahiri ji. There’s a lot that rests in our hands now to uphold the work and legacy that these greats have left behind. May Bappi ji’s soul rest in peace and may his family stay strong in these trying times.”
Bappi Lahiri aka ‘Disco King’ had sung songs across the industries and was known for his singing style. Bappi da was 69 years old and is survived by his wife Chitrani and two children Bappa and Rema.
