Sushant Singh Rajput case: Bombay High Court adjourns hearing of PIL demanding CBI inquiry – Times of India

Sushant Singh Rajput’s death by suicide is being investigated by the Mumbai police, however a PIL was filed in the Bombay High Court urging a CBI inquiry. The hearing was adjourned after Maharashtra government stated that it has not received a copy of the PIL. ANI had shared, “Bombay High Court adjourns the hearing till August 7 in a PIL demanding CBI inquiry into the case, after Maharashtra govt informed it that it hasn’t received a copy of the PIL. The court directed petitioner to give a copy of PIL to the state govt.”

On the other hand, the Centre has accepted Bihar government’s recommendation for a CBI probe into death case. ANI had posted an update, “Solicitor General Tushar Mehta states before Supreme Court that Centre has accepted Bihar govt‘s request recommending CBI enquiry into #SushantSinghRajput death case.”

Sushant Singh Rajput passed away on June 14 and till now the Mumbai police have recorded statements of close to 40 people. Sushant’s family members, his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty as well as Bollywood filmmakers Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Aditya Chopra and Rumi Jaffery have been questioned till now.
