The NCB wanted to question them for certain aspects pertaining to the drug-related probe into the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput‘s case.
The duo is currently in judicial custody till October 6 and their bail application is expected to come up for hearing in the Bombay High Court shortly.
Rhea and Showik filed for bail in the Bombay High Court on Tuesday. Their hearing got postponed on Thursday due to heavy rains. Her lawyer Satish Maneshinde, confirmed on Thursday that the court with hear the matter today.
The two were taken into custody by the Narcotics Control Bureau in connection to drugs case related to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death probe.
In her bail plea filed in the Bombay High Court, Rhea maintained that she is innocent and that the NCB is “deliberately” trying to invoke stringent charges against her and her family. She also said that she has been subjected to a “witch-hunt” and subjected to three other investigations by the police and central agencies.
She also said that all of this has taken a “severe toll on her mental health and well being” and any further custody will worsen her mental health.
