Vijayakanth, wife Premalatha beat Covid-19 | Chennai News – Times of India

CHENNAI: Actor and DMDK founder Vijayakanth and his wife and party treasurer Premalatha Vijayakanth have recovered from Covid-19 and will be discharged from Miot International on Friday, a medical bulletin issued by the Chennai hospital said.
“They have responded extremely well to treatment,” said the bulletin issued by hospital managing director Dr Prithvi Mohandas.
Vijayakanth tested positive for the viral infection on September 22 and was admitted to hospital. He had only mild symptoms. Vijayakanth undertakes complete health check-up once every six months. “When he went to MIOT for check-up this time, it was detected that he had mild symptoms,” a DMDK statement on September 24 said.
Vijayakanth had other health complications that made treatment difficult, but he responded well, his doctors said a few days ago.
Premalatha, who tested positive for Covid-19 later, was admitted to the same ward where her husband was undergoing treatment. Premalatha was asymptomatic, but she decided to get admitted because she wanted to take care of Vijayakanth.
