NEW DELHI: Rahul Tewatia earned overnight fame with his match-winning performance for Rajasthan Royals (RR) against Kings XI Punjab, when all seemed lost for his team, thanks to five big sixes in an over. But on Saturday, Tewatia and the Royals found themselves in a losing position after going down to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
The spinning all-rounder, though, had reason to smile when India and RCB captain, Virat Kohli, gifted the RR all-rounder an autographed RCB jersey of his.
“Rahul Tewatia is elated as he gets an autographed jersey by Virat Kohli,” said a tweet on the official handle of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is currently on in the UAE.
“Moments that matter the most,” the tweet added.

During his whirlwind knock of 53 off 31 balls in Rajasthan’s match against Punjab on September 27 in Sharjah, Tewatia hit pacer Sheldon Cottrell for five sixes in an over, which helped the Royals chase down a mammoth 224-run target to register a four-wicket win and register the highest successful run chase in the history of the IPL, breaking their own previous record set in 2008.
