Vivo is set to expand its portfolio in its domestic market with the launch of a new smartphone series. The Chinese smartphone maker has confirmed on Weibo that it will be hosting an event to launch two new smartphones under the Vivo S15 series. The Vivo S15 and the S15 pro smartphone will be released in China on May 19.
Apart from the two smartphones, the company will also launch the new Vivo TWS Air earbuds at the same event. Both the smartphones were recently added to the databases of the TENAA certification platform. The TENAA listings reveal some key specs of both smartphones. Moreover, the report suggests that the posters shared by the company also reveal one of the smartphones. Rumours suggest that the Vivo S15 series will not be a selfie-focused device like its predecessor.
Vivo S15 expected specifications
The Vivo S15 smartphone is expected to sport a 6.62-inch OLED FHD+ display and is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 870 chipset. The device may house a 64MP triple-rear camera setup that may include an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro/depth sensor. The handset may feature a 16MP front shooter for selfies and camera and is expected to pack a 4500mAh battery unit.
Vivo S15 Pro expected specifications
The Vivo S15 Pro smartphone is likely to feature a 6.56-inch OLED FHD+ panel that may support a 120Hz refresh rate and is expected to come with an independent display chip. The handset may come powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor and a 50MP main camera. This device may also pack a 4500mAh battery unit, however, the pro variant is likely to offer 80W fast charging. Both smartphones are expected to run on OriginOS Ocean UI based on Android 12 OS.
