The 2004 Chiranjeevi’s ‘Shankar Dada MBBS’, the Telugu remake of a Hindi comedy-drama film ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ that saw Chiranjeevi and Srikanth playing together was one of the most successful commercial films of 2004. And after a long haitus Chiranjeevi is once again playing the full length comedy character in the film. The success of the #SDMBBS also made the team come up with its sequel 3 years later titled ‘Shankar Dada Zindabad’.
Now, the upcoming film has similar chances of getting the public flocked to the ‘Waltair Veerayya’ as none of the recently released movies (‘Veera Simha Reddy’, or dubbing films ‘Tegimpu’ or ‘Varisu’) gets the out-and-out blockbuster talk and more or less all these have settled to one-time watch / Average talk.
‘Waltair Veerayya’ has more commercial elements to get the public’s attention. The recently released film’s soundtrack composed by Devi Sri Prasad has lots of foot-tapping dance numbers and those are an instant hit without visuals.
with 3 actresses Shruti Haasan, Catherine Tresa and Urvashi Rautela the film is expected to be on a whole new level together. The film is also said to have some terrific action episodes that are well-placed to entertain young adolescent audiences.
The film team is promoting the film as a fan-made film by director Bobby aka KS Ravindra who has been speaking in length about his admiration for the Megastar ever since the start of the movie.
Besides the above reasons, the film also has some well-known and happening actors such as Rajendra Prasad, Nasser, and Sathyaraj besides several comedians playing important roles in the film.
The Mythri Movie Makers funded ‘Waltair Veerayya’ is again high on visual grandeur as the film is said to have made with a whopping Rs 140 crores as the most expensive Sankanrthi film.
The film is said to be high in terms of its sets, Art direction, VFX and other commercialities. Therefore naturally the expectations for ‘Waltair Veerayya’ are sky high from the fans and hope the film will also live up to the expectations of the General audiences and settle as a blockbuster in the 2023 Sankranthi race in the Telugu states.
