WATCH: Kangana Ranaut sends out a fiery message for Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra government – Times of India

“Uddhav Thackeray, you abused me in your speech yesterday, called me ‘namak haram‘,” Kangana Ranaut said in her fiery video message, addressed to the ruling Maharashtra government.

The actress put out the video shortly after she slammed the Thackery-led government in a series of tweets on her official Twitter handle. Taking on the politician for his recent speech at his Dussehra rally, where he reportedly said that “ganja fields” are in Himachal Pradesh, she said, “You said such wrong things about Himachal, which is known as the birth-place of maa Parvati and is known as a ‘dev bhoommi’. Being a Chief Minister, you have tried to shame an entire state because you are upset with a girl, who is of your son’s age.”

She also went on to add, “CM you were upset with me because I compared Mumbai to Pakistan occupied Kashmir but in your speech, you compared India to Pakistan.”

Claiming that money was being exchanged by the hands of ‘desh-vidroh’, she said, “I have noticed that no one will come to aid you if you are a ‘desh-bhakt’.”

In her video, she also questioned the silence of those campaigning for women empowerment, at a time when she was being “abused and threatened.”

She concluded by directly addressing the ruling state party when she said, “You cannot be in power all the time. You are only a government servant and the people of Maharastra do not resonate with you, they are not happy with you. If a person loses one’s honour, it cannot be regained.”

Although CM Thackeray didn’t particularly name the actress, people began connecting the dots when he said, “Someone said Mumbai is like PoK… they come to Mumbai for work and then defame the city. This amounts to namak haram.”

During his addressal, he also spoke about the alleged drug racket in Mumbai city and called it a mere act to defame the city. Taking a jibe at the actress and her home state of Himachal Pradesh, he was quoted saying, “They don’t know in our house we grow tulsi, not ganja. Ganja fields are in your state, you know where, not in our Maharashtra.”
