The recent announcement of a curfew to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the Netherlands has erupted widespread protests. Several incidents of clashes between police personnel and civilians have been reported. Videos of looting and violent protests have also surfaced online. Police are using water cannons and tear gas to disperse crowds of several hundred at some places. Curfew violators face a 95 euro fine. The curfew is set to last till February 10.
