We can enjoy some ice creams now: Yash Dhull | Cricket News – Times of India

Soon after India beat England by six wickets in a pulsating final on Saturday to clinch the 2022 Under-19 World Cup, skipper Yash Dhull was asked about the one dish that he and his boys would now like to eat to celebrate the triumph. Dhull’s answer was simple: Ice creams!
“The ice cream has reached the rooms of every player. We will have and enjoy ice creams now. We had to maintain a strict diet for this tournament so now we will enjoy some ice cream,” said Dhull at the post-final presser.

The skipper was all praise with all-rounder Raj Bawa, who destroyed England with his incisive haul of five for 31 – the best in the history of the under-19 World Cup finals -to help India bowl out their opponents for a modest 189, before scoring a valuable 35 in a tricky chase.
“He is a bit different. While we have been enjoying ourselves, he has been focusing on his bowling in a big way, spending more time at training, speaking to the coaches, speaking to VVS (Laxman) sir. So the improvement showed. He has an important role as an all-rounder. His mindset is really good and he has full confidence in his game. Bawa takes the batter by surprise through his bouncers. He bowls it real quick,” Dhull said.

Having scored 229 runs in four games@76. 33, India Under-19’s latest victorious captain would be much in demand for the IPL auctions, with the Delhi Capitals certain to gun for him, on February 12 & 13. Around that time, there would also be the Ranji Trophy, where the 19-year-old would push for a place in the Delhi team.
Dhull stressed that instant fame and adulation will not disturb his focus. “I will play cricket in the future too, so the conversations with Laxman sir and others is that the focus has to be on the cricket, and everything else will take care of itself,” Dhull said. “I am excited. But for me, it means I need to work on my game more, focus more, train more, so I can touch that level, achieve at that level,” he stressed.
