What Google CEO Sundar Pichai said about Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro – Times of India

Google launched the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro earlier this month. Almost 15 days after the phone went on sale globally, Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai has revealed that the company recently had its highest selling week ever for the Pixel 7 smartphones. The USPs of the latest Pixel smartphones are the camera and clean Android operating system.
“We recently had our highest selling week ever for Pixel, and I’m really proud of the positive reviews so far. Pixel combines our foundational technologies, AI, Android and our Google Tensor G2 processor to bring state-of-the-art AI directly to the device,” Pichai said during Alphabet’s Q3 2022 earnings call. Earlier this year, the top executive also said that the company saw a “quarterly sales record” after the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro launch.
Both the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are powered by Google Tensor G2 processor. They run the cleanest version of Android 13 and are available for purchase in India. The Pixel 7 price in India is priced at Rs 59,999 and Pixel 7 Pro is priced at Rs 84,999 in India. Both phones come in three colour options each.

“Hardware is an important area of investment for us. We are investing deeply from the silicon to the OS to powerful software experiences, because it’s a big opportunity to move computing forward and build deeper relationships with people who love using Google products. It also really helps to guide the Android ecosystem beyond just building the underlying platform,” Pichai said.
Apart from Pichai heaping praise on the recently-launched Pixel 7 series of smartphones, Chief Financial Officer Ruth Porat also noted the success of the more affordable Pixel 6a. Porat said that Pixel 6a is “primarily” responsible for “solid growth in hardware revenues.” Pixel 6a was announced in May earlier this year but launched in July globally.
