WhatsApp has rolled out the mute video feature for its Android app users. The availability was announced by the Facebook-owned messaging platform via a post on Twitter.
The feature was first spotted by WaBetaInfo for beta users last month. WaBetaInfo is a popular platform that keeps track of WhatsApp new features- both available as well as upcoming.
“For your eyes, not your ears. You can now mute the audio on your videos before adding them to your Status or sending in chat. Now available on Android” reads WhatsApp tweet.

Using the mute video feature, WhatsApp users can mute a video before sharing it on WhatsApp Status or sending it to other users. It is available on the video editing screen when one shares a video with another contact.
Users will be able to see a volume icon on the video editing screen to mute the video. It is available along with other options such as trimming, adding text, stickers and more.
Mute video feature is currently available for Android users only. There is no information about when the feature will be rolled out to iPhone users.
