WhatsApp reportedly redesigning Group notifications for iPhone users – Times of India

WhatsApp has reportedly started to roll out the first beta update of this year for iOS users. As per a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has submitted a new update through the TestFlight beta Program, bringing the version up to 22.1.71. The report further mentions that with the latest beta update, the company is redesigning the way you receive a notification when someone mentions you and replies to your message in a Group.
According to the screenshots shared by WABetainfo, Group message notifications will mention if someone has replied to your message or if someone has mentioned you in the message on the Group along with a short message preview and Group name. The report speciality mentioned that the feature is only available for Group chats and the company has not enabled this feature for individual chats. The feature is only available to people who are enrolled in the WhatsApp beta program for iOS, but it is expected that it will be available to more users with future updates.
The Facebook-owned platform has also reportedly started to roll out a feature for iPhone users that will allow them to see profile images of senders along with the message notifications. According to the screenshot shared with the report, the new feature will allow you to see small photos of the sender in the notification when you receive a new message from an individual user or a Group.
The report further reveals that the feature is only available to only a few beta testers with the iOS 15 operating system as the feature uses iOS 15 APIs. WhatsApp will reportedly release the feature for more users with the upcoming updates. As the feature is still in the beta phase, WhatsApp may experience some issues while displaying profile photos to specific notifications but these issues will likely be resolved whenever the feature will be rolled out for the public.
