Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7S start receiving MIUI 12 update in India – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Smartphone maker Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI 12 update for its Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7S smartphones in India. The company launched these smartphones last year with Android 9.0 Pie operating system and MIUI 10.2. After the launch the smartphone received two major software updates one for Android 10 and other for MIUI 11. Now, the smartphones are getting another big update with MIUI 12.
Both the handsets will get MIUI 12 update with firmware version MIUI 12.0.1.0.QFGUNXM and the update weighs 578MB. With MIUI 12 the smartphones will get features like Super Wallpapers, Floating Window, New Control Center, Enhanced Privacy Protection and more. Along with the MIUI update, the smartphones will also get security patch for the month of October.
For those unaware, the Redmi Note 7 was launched in February last year in India. The smartphone comes with a 6.3-inch full HD+ display which is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass on top. The handset is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor paired with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage.
The smartphone comes with hybrid dual SIM functionality and rear mounted fingerprint sensor. The Redmi Note 7 sports a dual rear camera with 12MP main sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 2MP secondary camera. The front is home to a 13MP selfie shooter. The handset is backed by a 4,000 mAh battery with Quick Charge support.
On the other hand, the Redmi Note 7S features a 6.3-inch full HD+ display which is also made scratch resistant with a coating of Corning Gorilla Glass on top. The handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor coupled with 3GB/4GB RAM.
The smartphone offers 32GB and 64GB internal storage which can be expanded further via microSD card. The Redmi Note 7S comes with a dual rear camera with 48MP primary sensor and 5MP secondary sensor. There’s also a 13MP selfie shooter.
