Dilip Kumar’s last rites to be performed with full state honours – Times of India

Legendary Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar will be laid to rest today with full state honours. The veteran actor’s funeral will take place today at 5pm at the Juhu Qabrastan in Santacruz, Mumbai. Dilip Kumar’s mortal remains have been brought to his Bandra home and several celebrities have started arriving to pay their last respects to the legendary star. Maharashtra Chief Minister Minister Uddhav Thackeray was seen consoling Saira Banu at Dilip Kumar’s residence. Actor Dharmendra had also arrived to pay his last respects to the late actor and shared, “I have lost my brother today. I will live with his memories in my heart.”

Social media is flooded with fans and celebrities mourning the demise of Dilip Kumar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid a tribute to the thespian and shared on Twitter, “Dilip Kumar Ji will be remembered as a cinematic legend. He was blessed with unparalleled brilliance, due to which audiences across generations were enthralled. His passing away is a loss to our cultural world. Condolences to his family, friends and innumerable admirers. RIP.”

Dilip Kumar passed away on Wednesday after a long and protracted illness. “With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him we return,” family friend Faisal Farooqui had posted from the veteran actor’s Twitter handle.
