Sharing his reaction exclusively with ETimes, Mukesh Chhabra said, “This is the first step towards finding out the truth. I hope now the truth will finally come out and pray that justice prevails. His family, fans, near and dear ones and all of us deserve closure. I am really glad that the case has been handed over to the CBI.”
Supreme Court, in its verdict, also stated that any other FIR registered in connection with the Sushant’s death will also be investigated by the CBI. Sushant’s family lawyer Vikas Singh told in his statement that they hope that we should get justice very soon. He also added that Sushant’s family is very happy with the verdict.
SC ensured that there was no confusion about CBI being the sole authority to probe the mystery behind Rajput’s suicidal death and that no other state police could interfere with it.
Based on Rajput’s father KK Singh’s complaint that Rhea Chakraborty was responsible for abetment of his son’s suicide, Patna Police registered an FIR on July 25. Rhea Chakraborty had filed a petition on Supreme Court saying that the Bihar Police have no jurisdiction in the case and that the actor’s death was being used for political gains ahead of elections in the state.
