NEW DELHI: Earlier this year, Samsung confirmed that it will not launch the new Galaxy Note series smartphone this year. The company revealed that one of the reasons behind this decision is the shortage of chips.
After this announcement from Samsung, various online reports revealed that the company will move ahead and will launch the Galaxy S21 FE smartphone. With the launch of Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, the company will try to fill the gap created by the absence of Galaxy Note 21. However, now it appears that Samsung will have to delay the launch of Galaxy S21 FE.
Initially, the company was supposed to launch the smartphone in August along with the Galaxy Fold 3 and the Galaxy Flip 3. But according to a new report by Sammobile, Samsung will not be able to unveil the Galaxy S21 FE until the last quarter of 2021.
The report reveals that global semiconductor shortage is the reason behind the delay. So, if you want to purchase the Galaxy S21 FE, then you will have to wait till December, 2021. This also means that the launch of Samsung Galaxy S21 FE will come close to that of the Galaxy S22 series. This clash can also affect the sales of Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphones.
Meanwhile, Samsung is all set to launch its next generation foldable smartphones in August. The company is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 smartphones at the next Galaxy Unpacked event.
The company has already started mass production of the new foldable smartphones. As per an online report, Samsung is manufacturing 50,000 to 70,000 units of foldable smartphones each day.
The report also claims that Samsung is looking to manufacture a total of 7 million units of the two foldable smartphones. The company is expected to launch the smartphones on August 3 and the open sales are said to begin on August 27.
