Sanjay Kapoor reacts to reports of ‘The Fame Game’ season 2 being shelved: These are just rumours – Exclusive – Times of India

Madhuri Dixit marked her entry on OTT with ‘The Fame Game’ this year, wherein she reunited with her ‘Raja’ co-star Sanjay Kapoor. The hit duo entertained the audience with their dysfunctional family narrative in this show, which spoke about glamour, popularity, success and trials. A recent report suggested that Netflix has cancelled the show’s second season.

Reacting to the same, Sanjay Kapoor told ETimes, “The great thing is, when such rumours pop up, it means that the show is very successful and people want to know what is happening. It is such a successful show and the very fact that people are talking about it, proves that it is very relevant. “

Shedding light on the shoot schedule, he added, “Honestly, the best person to talk about it would be Team Netflix. What I know is that the writing is on. Making a series is not a two-hour thing. For example, even ‘Delhi Crime 2’ came after two-and-half years. Sometimes there are shows when two seasons are written together, like ‘Aashram’, its seasons were released back to back. But with ‘The Fame Game’, it released at the end of February, so it is too early to start shooting. It is a procedure and there is no script to shoot for. As actors we don’t know much, because we are not aware of what Netflix is planning. Till the time the script is not ready, how can we start shooting? It is going to take time, till then these are just rumours.”

Directed by Bejoy Nambiar and Karishma Kohli, ‘The Fame Game’ followed the journey of missing actress Anamika and it ended on tenterhooks, promising a closure in a sequel. The series also featured Manav Kaul, Suhasini Mulay, Lakshvir Saran and Muskkaan Jaferi in lead roles.
