Sushant Singh Rajput’s fans slam online shopping company for selling T-shirts with ‘misleading’ message about actor’s death – Times of India

Fans of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput have come down heavily on an e-commerce site – Flipkart – for selling a t-shirt ‘misleading’ message.

The brand, which reportedly launched its new t-shirt line, faced the wrath of fans when a tee bearing the late actor’s image along with the message, “Depression is like drowning” went viral online. Enraged with the message indicating that the actor died by suicide, many took to Twitter to share their shock and anger about the same.

Calling it a ‘Smear Campaign’ against the late actor, fans demanded an apology from the online shopping platform and the removal of the shirt from their line.

Twitter users who were offended by the message on the t-shirt, claimed that the actor “was not a depression patient.” Some went on to point out that the CBI had still not released their conclusive findings on the case. Some others alleged that the actor was ‘killed’ and insisted that he didn’t die by suicide.

Many filed grievances on the e-commerce site, while another decided to take the legal route. In a tweet, an SSR fan said, “I will serve notice to @Flipkart tonight (for approving a material which is defaming a deceased) as a common and responsible citizen. & BW Killed SSR DreamProjects TL participants.”

Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14, 2020. While at first reports stated the cause of his demise was an ‘accidental death’, the case which was originally handled by the Mumbai police, was later handed over to the CBI, ED and NCB for further investigation.

In the latest update on the death case, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) filed draft charges against actor Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik and others before a special court. The prosecution has proposed the court charge Rhea and Showik for consumption of narcotic substances and also for procuring and paying for such substances for deceased actor Rajput.
